The Creative Minds...
We are two best friends who both grew up with a love of crafting and creating. Whether we made our crafts with our mothers, aunts, grandmothers, friends, together, or on our own, we always had fun creating and enjoyed sharing our creations with people we love. Now all grown up, we want to share our creations with everyone else! After four long years of working hard at university and loving what we studied, we decided to take a chance and begin a brand new adventure.
That adventure took the form of Paperwhite Creations, our home based business which we began in late 2012. Being close friends, we would hang out and do crafts every once in a while, but now we get to do it every day and spend lots of time together as we create, design and manage our business. We work together on the items that we create and this helps make them more personal because we both put our focus and energy into making the items special/unique. All of our creations, greeting cards, stationary, and gifts are made locally here in Victoria and they are all designed and handmade by us. Our cards are stamped, embossed, glued, cut and coloured by hand, making each card unique and special.
Our cards and creations can be found in our Etsy store online. Etsy is a website that allows you to buy and sell homemade and vintage items only and we have all of our items listed and displayed for sale there and we will be continually be adding new cards and creations as we make them.
Hi my name is Samantha and my main passion is crafting! Creating things from scratch and making them really special for others to enjoy is what makes me happy. When I’m not crafting, I enjoy watching old movies, listening to music of all sorts, cooking/baking, running, writing, reading, and inspirational quotes. I studied English and Film Studies at the University of Victoria and now I am a proud part owner of Paperwhite Creations.
Besides crafting, writing is another great love of mine. Whenever I have a free moment you can find me with pen and paper writing. Writing gives me hope, it gives me the confidence to express myself, and it lets me vent my frustrations at times too. I like to help people through writing by sending a letter, message, or piece of advice to someone who needs it.
Owning your own business is a lot of work but such a rewarding experience.We have so many ideas and we are looking forward to sharing them!
I’m Nicole and I have a love for crafting which has grown exponentially since I was little. My mom is my inspiration when it comes to crafts. When I am not doing crafts I love reading, playing board games, baking, watching old movies, listening to and playing music, helping out with my church groups and hanging out with friends and family. I recently graduated from UVic, where I studied Mathematics and Physics. Now I’m half of Paperwhite Creations, with my really great friend Samantha.
My faith is also very imprtant to me. It's a part of who I am, and without God I don't know what I'd do, or where I would be right now. I like to spend time both participating in, and helping with different Church groups. I help out with a kids program called Awana, and really enjoy being able to interact with the kids.
I'm really excited about Paperwhite Creations, and am so glad I have a friend with similar interests, and the drive, determination and passion to live a dream!
